If you can take a break from World of Warcraft’s latest expansion, there’s some other Blizzard-related news that may give you a good reason to be excited. Overwatch, Blizzard’s slam-dunk success of a team-based shooter, is going to be enjoying a free weekend from September 9th to September 12th.  This presents an opportunity for those on the fence about Overwatch to try out the game and see if it’s for them before they decide to take the plunge and buy their copy.

This free weekend doesn’t have any complications to it – the deal is pretty simple. You get to play Overwatch for three days for free, and you can earn loot boxes, level up, play every hero, play on every map, do every game mode, etc. If you fall in love with Overwatch after the free weekend, buy the game and you can pick up where you left off.

If this is your first time taking part in a free weekend and you’d like something to clear up any confusion, you can readBlizzard’s blog post. The post includes an FAQ about the free weekend, launch schedules with times listed for each time zone, and more. Whether you’re new to the genre or have been playing similar games for years, Overwatch is an extremely good time – you’re going to want to get on this trial if you’re at all on the fence about the game. As long as you have an active Xbox Live Gold membership and an empty schedule, next weekend is primed to be a fun time for you.
