Civilization 7 announced at Summer Game Fest, launching next year

Firaxis Games has officially announcedCivilization 7,coming to PC, PlayStation, Xbox, andNintendo Switchin 2025.
The reveal arrived during theSummer Game Fest 2024alongside a stunning cinematic trailer teasing the new chapter in theCivilizationfranchise.
“The award-winning strategy game franchise returns with a revolutionary new chapter,” the official game description reads. “Sid Meier’s Civilization VIIempowers you to build the greatest empire the world has ever known!“Rule as one of many legendary leaders from throughout history. Establish your civilization, construct cities and architectural wonders to expand your territory, conquer or cooperate with rival civilizations in pursuit of prosperity, and explore the far reaches of the unknown world. Will you build an empire that stands the test of time?”
Sid Meier,Civilizationcreator and founder and director of creative development at Firaxis Games, was also featured during the broadcast to confirm that a full gameplay reveal will arrive this summer, in August.
We can hopefully expect specific platform details, along with an official release date during this reveal, too.
“For more than 30 years, players from around the world have shared their love and support forCiv,” Meier said in a press release. “I’m incredibly excited forCivfans to seeCivilization VII, a game that represents the culmination of three decades of strategy innovation and refinement.”

Also announced during the Summer Game Fest wasLego Horizon Adventures, a Lego take on the Guerrilla Games' action-adventure game, and it’s set to launch on Nintendo Switch,PS5, and PC.
