The first-everMicrosoft Data Insights Summit (MDIS) is set to be held March 22-23, 2016in Bellevue, WA. Microsoft Excel and Power BI teams will be on-hand to share their thoughts on industry trends and advice on Excel and Power BI best practices. There will be a number of guest speakers at MDIS, including Microsoft company veterans and industry experts.
Nate Silver, founder of FiveThirtyEight, is one featured speakerat MDIS and he will share his thoughts on data-based predictions. FiveThirtyEight was formed in 2008 by Silver, and is named for the number of electors in the US electoral college (538). Silver was quite successful in previous presidential elections, where he successfully predicted the results of the election primaries and presidential winner in 49 states. In 2012, Silver correctly predicted the presidential winner in all 50 states.
Silver will be joined by other speakers, including Rob Collie, a former Microsoft engineer behind Power Pivot and Power Pivot’s cloud service. Collie left Microsoft in 2010, to start PowerPivotPro, a training and consulting firm. Now, Collie is the leading Power BI expert in the industry.Check out the full list of MDIS speakers here.
In addition to the speakers, there will be a number of Microsoft Excel and Power BI experts on hand to field any questions you may have; there will be “Ask the Experts” sessions, training workshops, and product capability sessions available for anyone interested.
