Dragon Age: The Veilguardgot a cool debut trailer during the Xbox Games Showcase duringSummer Game Fest 2024. Coming from Electronic Arts and Bioware, this is the first full trailer the game has received since being renamed fromDragon Age: Dreadwolf.

No gameplay has been shown as of yet, but the game is looking sharp with a vibrant, eye-catching art style that separates it from the rest of theDragon Ageseries. Popular character Varric also seems to be returning, alonside a host of fresh faces. These include Harding the Scout, Neve the Detective, Lucanis the Mage Killer, Bellara the Veil Jumper and Emmrich the Necromancer. It seems that these will be among the game’s playable party members.

The trailer also teased a ‘Fall 2024’ release date for the upcoming game, so expect it to launch between the months of September and November, give or take. Once again, no gameplay has been shown forDragon Age: The Veilguard, but an official gameplay reveal is going live on the officialDragon AgeYouTubechannel on June 11.

It’s been a decade since the third game in the series,Dragon Age: Inquisition, launched on PS4, Xbox One and PC. The last couple of Bioware titles,AnthemandMass Effect Andromeda, received mixed reception. So longtime fans of the studio will no doubt be hoping for a return to form with this latest release. The art direction is looking incredibly strong, so here’s hoping the game follows suit.
