This is a marked increase in sales over the last couple of FromSoftware games. Dark Souls 3, which launched in April 2016, crossed the mark of10 million copies soldfour years later in May 2020, while the Dark Souls series as a whole is over 27 million copies sold, spread across three distinct games and a couple of remasters.

This rate of success doesn’t seem to be slowing down for Elden Ring so far. Elden Ring was the number one title on both the February 2022 andMarch 2022 NPDcharts.

In our review of the game, we wrote that “Elden Ring is a masterclass in open-world game design. FromSoftware has poetically fashioned a gorgeously haunting universe that begs to be explored. It’s a quintessential action RPG and an obvious contender for game of the year.”

Popular for good reason

Elden Ring is a magnificent action RPG, and it isn’t likely to stop selling fast anytime soon. Who knows what the next milestone is?
