Evernote for Windows desktop gets an update, adds improved scan management

If you aren’t familiar, Evernote is one of the top note-taking apps on the market. The company covers everything from browser extensions, to desktop operating systems to mobile platforms. But it also does much more than just take notes, you can scan documents and even grab screenshots of web pages and add graphics to them.

Now the company is pushing a major update to its Windows desktop offering. The biggest addition is new functionality for the ScanSnap scanner. Users will now get integration with LinkedIn so scanned business cards can be connected to the person associated with each. Customers will be able to simply scan in business cards and ScanSnap will fill in all of the information and even add a photo of the person.

It also adds auto-filing of scanned documents, which eliminates manual steps that were previously necessary. “The new Evernote for Windows works directly with the ScanSnap Evernote Edition to send your receipts, business cards, and documents directly to the notebooks you choose, automatically”.
