What you need to know
Square Enix’s popular MMORPG, Final Fantasy XIV, has recently received the new Patch 6.11 update. This patch includes the highly anticipated Ultimate Raid titled Dragonsong’s Reprise. Ultimate Raids (or simply known as Ultimates) are some of the most demanding and brutal post-game challenges in Final Fantasy XIV. They require a party of eight players to fight a gauntlet of numerous bosses they have encountered in previous expansions, but they have been completely remade with new mechanics and new forms to catch players off guard.
The Dragonsong’s Reprisal in particular, has players fight several bosses from Final Fantasy XIV: Heavensward. This includes the corrupt archbishop Thordan VII, his elite guard known as the Heavens' Ward, and a black dragon fueled by vengeance named Nidhogg. There is also Nidhogg’s brother, the white dragon Hraesvelgr, who was an ally to the player in the main story of Heavensward. However, in this “What If” scenario, he’s been forced to fight alongside his evil brother Nidhogg, as evidenced by the shackles located on his body.
Like previous Ultimates, if players manage to complete Dragonsong’s Reprise, they will be rewarded with new Ultimate weapons. These extravagant weapons are not powerful, but they also prove that you managed to overcome the most challenging content inFinal Fantasy XIV: Endwalkerand show the world you are one of the best players.
