It’s an incredibly scary world as we store more of our personal information on the cloud each day. While there’s nothing wrong with trusting the cloud with your important data, it’s important to be diligent and know when you need to take steps to protect your accounts. It’s in the interest of that security that Windows developer Lance McCarthy has developed his new app, which goes by the name of “Hacked?”

Hacked? is simple – enter your email addresses and let the app do the rest. Hacked? will notify you the second that one of your email addresses has been listed on haveibeenpwned, a website that tracks security breaches and can give you an idea on whether or not you’ve been compromised. Unlike haveibeenpwned, which needs you to go to the website and enter your email address when you need to check the status of your email address, Hacked? will shoot you a notification immediately if it becomes an issue.

With the help of Hacked? you can be more diligent about your cyber security and change your passwords the second that you need to. While there will never truly be a perfect defense against hackers, this is a fairly solid start. Hopefully, the forewarning capabilities of this app will help users take the preventative measures necessary to keep themselves safe from the people that would do them harm.
