With therelease of Microsoft’s new and improved Xbox One model, the Xbox One S, many fans have been wondering if the tech giant would consider giving gamers more color variations beyond the default white.
Microsoft recently gave gamers the ability to create their own customized Xbox One controllers through the newly unveiled Xbox Design Labs butso far they’ve been mum on any console options. Unfortunately for them and luckily for everyone else, a third party has stepped up to the plate to fill the hole in the market, Colorware. This company specialises in customizing hardware for clients and hasjust added the Xbox One S to their range of supported items.
Colorware offers an impressive array of color options for pretty much every part of the Xbox One S console and also provides options for the included controller. The controller options don’t appear to be as impressive as Microsoft’s own service though.
Interested parties can pay to have their own console and controller customised for $249 or order a brand new one from them for $649. It’s not the cheapest service by any means but it is a viable option for those looking to add more color to their gaming lives.
The Xbox One S launched today worldwide and while it is technically in the same console generation as the original Xbox One,this new gaming console supports 4K resolution output and is slightly more powerful. The Xbox One S is also a physically improved product with a lighter weight, smaller dimensions, and an internalized power supply (i.e. it has no need for a huge power brick like the regular Xbox One).
The launch of the Xbox One S also signifies the arrival of Microsoft’s new Xbox One controller which can now supports Bluetooth and can be used with both a Windows 10 PC and an Xbox One console. One of these new controllers ships with the Xbox One S but users can also order them separately and through the previously mentioned Xbox Design Lab which allows them to create their own.
