Microsoft’s Edge browser is almost a year old, but after several rounds of improvements, it is still overall looking like a very secure experience. At their second annual Edge Summit event, Microsoft hs just claimed that in about one year Edge has had no zero-day exploits and no known exploits targeting it.

This comes as very good news, as the number of Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVE’s) in 2015 are significantly higher (at around 25) on Internet Explorer for Windows 8.1 and below. The same can be said for IE11 on Windows 10, which peaked at around 20.

Overall, the company also revealed that there was a 75% reduction in RCE CVE’s that affect Edge in the first 5 servicing months.

These numbers are reassuring and seem to bring Microsoft’s latest web browser into a new more secure era. We would love to hear what you think of these statistics, so please comment below to sound off on your thoughts on Edge security!

For most of the kids of his age, the Internet was an amazing way to play and communicate with others, but he was deeply impressed by the flow of information and how easily you can find anything on the web.

Prior to founding Windows Report, this particular curiosity about digital content enabled him to grow a number of sites that helped hundreds of millions reach faster the answer they’re looking for.
