The Xbox Network, previously known as Xbox Live, was experiencing a partial outage that affected a number of players. While not a total collapse of the Xbox ecosystem, this outage hit account access. To be more precise, some users were unable to sign into their Xbox account across the entire Xbox ecosystem, or were disconnected while logged in.

If you were affected, you would’ve been unable to access features that require your Xbox account, including playing games and using apps, using social features, and viewing your profile activity. Xbox Support was aware of this issue and investigated a solution.

This Xbox Network outage was reported on July 2, 2024 starting at 2:07 p.m. ET, and Xbox Support claimed to have identified the issue and begun working on a fix as soon as July 2 at 4:24 p.m. ET. As of July 2 at 6:44 p.m. ET, the Xbox engineers were still working on a fix and had advised that it’s taking longer than expected to resolve. Finally, this Xbox Network outage was reported as fully resolved onJuly 2, 2024 at 8:49 p.m. ET. All users should be able to login without issue now.
