Microsoft hasjust taken to the Technet blogto announce Windows 10 editions for education customers. With the Windows 10 Anniversary update around the corner, Microsoft notes that these editions show the company’s commitment to bringing productivity, security, and privacy for all customers. It also shows that Windows commercial editions can be configured to support the needs of schools, through group policies, domain join, and more.

The first of the two editions is Windows 10 Pro Education. Microsoft notes that this edition builds on the commercial version of Windows 10 Pro and provides important management controls needed in schools. This edition also provides education-specific default settings including the removal of Cortana. The Windows 10 Pro Education edition is available on new devices pre-installed with Windows 10, version 1607 that are purchased with discounted K-12 academic licenses through OEM partners. Existing devices with Windows 10 Pro activated with an OEM digital product key will upgrade automatically to Windows 10 Education as part of the Windows 10, version 1607 installation.

The second of the editions is Windows 10 Education. Much like Windows 10 Pro Education, this edition builds on Windows 10 Enterprise and provides the enterprise-grade manageability and security desired by schools. Windows 10 Education is available through Microsoft Volume Licensing. Microsoft highlights the fact that customers who are already running Windows 10 Education can upgrade to Windows 10, version 1607 through Windows Update or from theVolume Licensing Service Center.

For most of the kids of his age, the Internet was an amazing way to play and communicate with others, but he was deeply impressed by the flow of information and how easily you can find anything on the web.

Prior to founding Windows Report, this particular curiosity about digital content enabled him to grow a number of sites that helped hundreds of millions reach faster the answer they’re looking for.
