Microsoft is enforcing the Windows Store age rating policy on published apps

Microsoft has sent out an email to app developers who currently have apps in the Windows Store to ensure the age rating has been set. Developers who are not in compliance by September 30th of this year will have their app unpublished from the Windows Store. Here’s the email that was sent out to app developers:

As part of our continuing efforts to improve the Store experience for customers, we’re bringing enforcement of the Windows Store age rating policy to published apps that are not yet rated by using the new Dev Center age rating questionnaire. We’ve identified one of more of your apps as not having a rating based on the questionnaire.

To bring your app into compliance, just log in to Dev Center, click Update to edit Age Ratings and take the brief age rating questionnaire. When you’re finished, click Submit to the Store to publish the updated submission with the new age ratings in place. Learn more about the processhere.

Apps that aren’t rated by September 30, 2016 will be unpublished.
