Twitter userWalkingCathas posted a rather interesting blurb, stating “MSFT creating ‘a modern (game dev) framework that is open source.. and across platforms including W8/WP/iOS/Android.’” A link is included, pointing to a poston the company website which advertises for a software development engineer. The job description supports the claim. In fact, the quote in the tweet is lifted from that page, which also states “your contribution will have [a] direct impact on how we win back our game developers from our competitors.” What exactly the framework is, however, is not mentioned, so things remain just a bit vague. The requirements include experience with C++, C#, Java and shipping a public API. It is an intriguing proposal, though, given that hiring is just beginning, it’s likely something we won’t know much about for sometime.

Radu Tyrsina has been a Windows fan ever since he got his first PC, a Pentium III (a monster at that time).
For most of the kids of his age, the Internet was an amazing way to play and communicate with others, but he was deeply impressed by the flow of information and how easily you can find anything on the web.
Prior to founding Windows Report, this particular curiosity about digital content enabled him to grow a number of sites that helped hundreds of millions reach faster the answer they’re looking for.
