For those interested, Microsoft has made available to the public the first Windows Thin PC Community Technology Preview (CTP) build.

What exactly is Windows Thin PC? As Microsoftexplains, Windows Thin PC is a “locked down version of Windows 7 designed to help repurpose existing PCs as thin clients extending the life of existing hardware.” In a nutshell, Microsoft is pushing Windows Thin PC as a way for IT users to watch their wallets by converting older PCs as thin clients.

This CTP build of Windows Thin PC includes some new features such as RemoteFX support which allows remote workers to enjoy the same rich user experience over a network as with a local environment. The CTP build also has support for System Center Configuration Manager which helps deploy and manage Windows Thin PC images. The CTP build also has a write filter support to help repvent user and application writes to disk. This helps improve security at the end point.

This build is available to the public and ready for evaluation. Download Windows Thin PC CTP atMicrosoft Connect.

For most of the kids of his age, the Internet was an amazing way to play and communicate with others, but he was deeply impressed by the flow of information and how easily you can find anything on the web.

Prior to founding Windows Report, this particular curiosity about digital content enabled him to grow a number of sites that helped hundreds of millions reach faster the answer they’re looking for.
