It looks like Microsoft is now settling on which build will the official Windows 10 Anniversary Update. A report byWindows Centralsays Microsoft is beginning the sign off process on potential candidate builds for the Windows 10 Anniversary Update.

The report states that the first Release to Manufacturing (RTM) candidate build is numbered 14384. Microsoft will begin internally testing this build for both PC and mobile. If the build does not pass internal vetting, then a new candidate build will be compiled and put through the ringer. So the final sign off process could be quick, or it might go through a few builds over the course of the next few weeks.

Recent Insider builds have been mostly absent of new features. Instead, Windows engineers have been focused on fine tuning and polishing Redstone builds in preparation for the Windows 10 Anniversary Update. The update is scheduled to bereleased on August 2nd, shortly afterthe free upgrade offer ends. So we are bound to know soon which Redstone build will be selected as the Windows 10 Anniversary Update.

Though the development of Redstone 1 builds is almost over, Dona Sarkar recently assured Windows Insiders thatnew builds will continue to be released after the Windows 10 Anniversary Update. Windows Central’s report also states that Redstone 2 builds will start with a number of 148XX. Stay tuned for more news as we get closer to the next big update for Windows 10.
