Computex 2016 is officially under way in Taiwan and Microsoft is one of the many companies showcasing the latest technology at the event.As per our friends at Windows Central, though, Microsoft commenced their Computex keynote with a small demonstration of logging into Windows 10 with a fingerprint scanning wearable.

Given Microsoft’s already existing Windows Hello technology, this fingerprint scanning wearable appears to be yet another a step towards a world without passwords. Nonetheless, Microsoft stated at the Computex keynote that “support for fingerprint scanning is already built into Cortana.” The project “is part of the Windows Hello Companion Device Framework, which will enable third party companies to produce new hardware that can connect to Microsoft’s own platform.”

Microsoft has recently been working on other ways for you to sign into your Windows 10 PC. For instance,back in Marchwe reported on the fact that a “phone sign-in beta” app appeared in the Windows Store. At the time, based on the listing for the internal testing only app, it appeared that the app uses the Bluetooth connection of a phone to unlock a Windows 10 computer.
