If you’ve been following the news about the release ofHP’s flagship Elite x3 Windows 10 Mobile phone, you may be aware that things have been quite complicated from the start. The premium handset was initially expected tostart shipping to US customers on September 5, though that later changed toSeptember 12until another delay toSeptember 26. As of today, theUS Microsoft storestill lists a September 26 shipping date for the handset even thoughHP.comdoesn’t share a shipping date anymore.

According to a new report, a September 26 shipping date for the HP Elite x3 is no longer happening even though US Microsoft Stores do have the handset in stock. A tipster sendWindows Centralthe following email:

Just received confirmation at a Virginia Microsoft store that the elite x3 cannot be sold until October 11th. They are waiting for updates to fix camera issues, etc. They have them in stock but cannot sell them, unfortunately.

Early reviews of the handset have started to appear on the Internets over the last few days, and if you paid attention to them you may have learned that the great hardware quality of the HP Elite x3 is bogged down by various bugs and issues. Microsoft’s Lumia 950 and Lumia 950XL issues have been affected by similar issues following their release in late 2015, so Microsoft and HP are probably right to make sure that the premium handsets delivers a great experience out of the box. Did you already pre-ordered an HP Elite x3, and if so will you be ok to wait a little more to enjoy a better experience with the handset? Let us know what you think in the comments below.
