Microsoft has always been active in the Seattle community, deservedly so, and they have even recentlydonated to the Seattle Zoo. Microsoft’s involvement in the community, however, is now going musical, as the software giantis teaming upwith KEXP to present “Inside the Music of KEXP” in Seattle this month.

The presentation is part of a celebration of the opening of KEXP’s new home in the Seattle Center. Previously, the radio station worked with Microsoft to turn the 4,000 square foot vacant office space into an interactive installation.

Curated by KEXP’s Kevin Cole, music in the presentation will respond intuitively to visitor’s movements and interactions in the ever evolving environments. KEXP’s presentation at the facility will use Kinect, so participants can remix songs by KEXP musicians including alt-J, Floating Points, Ólafur Arnalds, and Samaris.

If you’re in the Seattle are and are interested in this presentation, you can check it out by visiting the Settle Center at 472 1st Ave N. The installation will be open Mon-Fri from 12Pm to 7 PM and Sat-Sun from 10 AM- 5 PM from April 16th to May 8th.
