Microsoft has announcedthat it is set to open a third Transparency Center in Bejing, China. The new center joins the two centers already existing in Belgium and the United States, and further continues the company’s push to increase trust in Microsoft’s products.

The new Asia Transparency Center will enable government IT experts to test and analyze Microsoft products closely and ultimately gain confidence that their software will stand up to security needs. The Transparency Center is also designed to provide these IT experts with deeper insights and understanding of Microsoft’s security measures, while still maintaining a proprietary and protected environment for Microsoft products.

Microsoft’s Transparency Center is all part of efforts put forth by Bill Gates back in 2002 when Microsoft’sGovernment Security Program (GSP)was first announced. The program has since expanded and 70 agencies from almost 40 national governments are now part of the program. More details on events to celebrate the opening of the new Microsoft Transparency Center will arise in the fall, and Microsoft is even mentioning that new Microsoft Transparency Centers that will be announced in the coming weeks.
