Microsofthas just announcedthat Microsoft Translator now supports Cantonese text translation. This is just theone of the latest languagesto be added to Translator and shows Microsoft’s commitment to permanently breaking down the language barriers that separate us.

The Redmond Giant is noting that with the new language, governments, communities and, people will be able to communicate back and forth across borders for both business and personal purposes. Cantonese, nonetheless, is spoken by about 55 million people in China, and another 20 million globally, so this is a very important move.

A very wide range of Microsoft Products currently support Microsoft Translator. Bing, Microsoft Office, SharePoint, Cortana, and Yammer all have support for translation. There are also a full suite of Microsoft Translation apps for PC’s including Windows, Windows Phone, Android, Android Wear, iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch.  So, in line with these products and apps, Microsoft is also noting that Cantonese will also be available as an instant messaging language inSkype for Windows desktopso that you can communicate in real time around the world.
