Microsoft’s new future vision video gives us a peek at OneNote 5-10 years from now

Every now and then, Microsoft puts out a video of its vision of the future, showcasing the kind of technology the company expects to be mainstream in the next 5-10 years. These videos typically include a look at possible smart-devices that will make our lives a lot more convenient. Today, we get a look at a new video of the future, this time focusing on OneNote.

In a video titled “The future of OneNote starts today”, OneNote is envisioned to be ever-present. Whether you’re a cook preparing a new course on the menu, a student capturing notes on a field trip, or a doctor checking out patient records, OneNote will always be there, ready of you to get productive in very intuitive ways. All so you can spend less time sitting down recalling what you need to take notes of, and more time with the people who are important to you.

The video certainly paints a pretty picture of the next era in digital computing; we see interactive mirrors and surfaces, and new devices too. Is that a Surface 25 shown at minute 0:25? I’d like to think so. Although I’m not too sure here, but that doctor seems to be reading her notes while driving which doesn’t seem very safe. I’m going to give Microsoft the benefit of the doubt and assume that the BMW i3 she’s in is an autonomous vehicle.
