What you need to know
Minecraft: Java Edition, the legacy version of Minecraft that started it all, gains a new snapshot almost every week that gives players a peek into the future of Minecraft. A new content update is arriving later this year, and Mojang Studios has been tirelessly developing the release ahead of its eventual launch. On Thursday, Minecraft: Java Edition Snapshot 22w19a began rolling out to interested players.
The latestMinecraftsnapshot continues to build offThe Wild Update, a sizeable content-filled update releasing at some point in 2022. This isn’t the most exciting snapshot for most players, besides a handful of bug fixes and smaller changes, but those mired in the technical or creator aspect of Minecraft may be intrigued.
The headlining feature of this release is none other than the Chat Preview, a new feature that servers can now test through this snapshot, which allows a preview of server-altered chat to appear above the chat edit window for players. Mojang Studios’infamous PC gamealso enjoys a handful of other changes for command lines, and more.
In case you missed it,Minecraft: Bedrock Edition Beta 1.19.0.32is also now available, alongside the news that some features originally slated for release with The Wild Update have now been cut, like fireflies.
