Back inSeptemeber, we reported that Microsoft was working on Skype Teams, a new product that was believed to be Microsoft’s answer to Slack for group productivity.Today the folks over at Windows Centralhave learned some more about Skype Teams as a preview for the product is closer to arrival.

According to Windows Central, Skype Teams will expand from a private beta test in November, and will have a full launch in January of 2017. Additionally, while Microsoft remains quiet about Skype Teams, a report obtained by Windows Centralfrom Petri revealsthat Skype teams has been in development for the last 18 months.

Furthur details from the report indicate that Skype Teams will be offered on multiple platforms, including MacOS, iOS, Android, and of course, Windows and Windows Phone (although we do wonder if the latter is actually Windows 10 Mobile). Use of the product, however, will also reportedly require a paid Office 365 business subscription.

Again, Nothing in these reports are official, and so it all should be taken as a fine grain of salt. As more information develops, we will be here to cover it for you.
