Amazon has recently ended support for theWindows 10 Mobileplatform. However, not all hope is lost since the retail giant has released a new Windows 10 PC app, which hints at a future Windows 10 Mobile app.
The new Amazon app is actually a web wrapper, meaning that you’ll get the exact same experience on this app as if you were surfing on the company’s official website. Although this is not a Windows app per se, there is one element that has caught everyone’s attention: it supports both the PC and Mobile platforms.
Of course, the fact that the app description mentions that mobile support is available, doesn’t guarantee Amazon will release a new Windows Mobile app. Judging by the current characteristics of this new app,Amazoncould release an app for Windows 10 Mobile on the 12th of Never.
On the other hand, optimistic Windows phone users take the presence of the mobile icon in the app description as an implicit guarantee for future mobile app support. A UWP Amazon app could constitute the foundation for PC and Mobile native support.
Meanwhile, if you want to access Amazon’s website, we suggest you connect straight to their website using your default browser. There is no point in downloading an app which offers the same experience.
As far as the quality and responsiveness of the new app are concerned, users are pretty disappointed with its overall performance.
Downgrade not upgradeThe previous amazon app available on windows phone/mobile at least worked well enough to use. I hope this is only a temporary replacement as it is pure garbage. It’s a web app not a true application. No access for prime members to utilize what they pay for.
If you’re still curious to test out the new app, you candownload itfor free fromthe Windows Store.
