One of the most anticipated and welcome Windows 10 features arriving with the recentAnniversary UpdateisEdge extensions, or the ability to access new functionality when surfing the web using Microsoft’s newest browser. Chrome and other browsers have had extensions for quite some time, and Microsoft hasn’t yet opened up the extensions framework to all developers.

Nevertheless, new extensions continue to dribble out, and the latest isone that we reported on a week or so ago, Turn Off the Lights (viaMSPU). This latest Edge extension provides for a more pleasant video consumption experience by dimming everything in the browser except the most important thing–the video that’s currently playing.

You can now install the extension from the Windows Store, and here’s what it offers up:

The entire page will be fading to dark, so you can watch the videos as if you were in the cinema.

With a single click on the lamp button, the page will fade to dark. And automatically focus on the video. By clicking on it again, the page will return to normal.

Turn Off the Lights is a lightweight and useful add-in designed for a more comfortable watching experience. It works for all known video sites such as YouTube, Vimeo, Dailymotion, Hulu, Metacafe, YouKu, etc. Not only this but these extensions are compatible with Google Chrome, Apple Safari, Mozilla Firefox, Opera, Microsoft Edge, Maxthon and Yandex web browsers.
