Office 365 First Release customers get the newly-minted Planner preview today. Planner allows teams to collaborate better by helping people visualize projects and delegate tasks easier. Planner enables you to create plans, assign jobs, share documents and files, chat in real time and get updates on team member progress.Planner utilizes the use of “Boards” and “Cards,” to organize work. For each project, there is a Board, and within each Board, a work item or task is listed as a Card. Within the Card, there can be attachments, due dates, conversations, or labels associated with it. Any team member can receive email notifications about Cards if they are assigned or added to a conversation by using Outlook 2016.When Planner was first announced in September, it wasn’t known what Office 365 plan participants would be eligible to use Planner. Now, Microsoft revealed which Office 365 members would be able to use Planner preview: Office 365 Enterprise E1, Office 365 Enterprise E3, Office 365 Enterprise E4, Office 365 Education, Office 365 Education E3, Office 365 Education E4, Office 365 Business Essentials and Office 365 Business Premium. While the Office 365 Planner is just a preview release at the moment and is not available for all Office 365 plans, it may become more widely available at a later date.
