The uses of mixed reality are nearly endless. With a large amount of interest beingdrummed up by businesses, Microsoft has found more and more commercial uses for the HoloLens. Just today, Microsoft released an update to the Mail and Calendar app for Windows 10, adding HoloLens support.

Ideally, users will be able to ‘place’ the calendar and email updates on their wall through mixed reality, enabling them to stay up to date on the happenings and itineraries. The application can be customized with a holographic accent and resized vertically to show off even more information.

Thanks to the Universal Windows Platform, developers are already able to play with these applications through Windows 10. Microsoft is encouraging any interested parties to download the Outlook Mail and Calendar app on their HoloLens, then to provide feedback on the developer forums for future advancement.
