Overwatch ‘Terror’ update brings new skins and games modes for gamers, out now on the Xbox One

Blizzard has been exceptionally excited to launch holiday events for their video games, and their newest shooter isn’t an exception. Overwatch received theHalloween Terrorseasonal update today. All of your favorite locations will be decked out in scary themes and strung up with spider web decor. Not to mention a ton of new treats are being handed out like candy.

Starting today and until November 1, Loot Boxes will be replaced with scary jack-o-lanterns that will give players new content for their games. For a reminder, Loot Boxes are obtained as a result of the player leveling up through gameplay. At the end of each match, you’ll be one step closer to getting more terror-iffic skins, tag sprays, icons, emotes, highlight intros, victory poses, and so on.

There’s over 100 new cosmetics to collect and only a few short weeks until the end of the event. Even though Halloween is over, that doesn’t mean you can’t use your new items. Like other events hosted in Overwatch, any stash you get will be available for use anytime after.

That’s not all. Undoubtedly the biggest addition for Overwatch during its Halloween Terror event is the creation of a new game mode: Junkenstein’s Revenge. As a play off of the story of Frankenstein, four players will team up against a swarm of Halloween themed enemies and face Dr. Junkenstein and his monster. No spoilers though. Instead, you can read the Junkenstein digital comic by Blizzard to learn more about why you’re going to march his tower with guns blazing.

Players will be limited to specific characters for the new game mode: Soldier 76, Ana, Hanzo, and McCree. Quoted as Overwatch’s ‘first ever co-op PvE Brawl’ makes us think that there will likely be more of these story-driven horde-mode sieges to come.
