Developers from Microsoft Garage have releasedPersonal Shopping Assistant, a new Chrome extension that allows users to automatically save their browsed products, get notified on price changes, and even share their favorites with others. Once you download it, the assistant will remember all the products you have encountered during your browsing sessions including key details about it and where you found them.
The extension asks you to log in with either a Microsoft or a Google account to remember your favorites across devices, share them with your friends by email, or access them on your phone by also sending you an email link that opens a web page with your listed products. Note though that “search results and catalog pages, with multiple products listed are not captured.”
On a blog post onMicrosoft’s Fire Hose blog, Microsoft Garage developerGagan Chopra explained how this simple tool allows computer users to do better shopping decisions without interfering with their workflows:
This tool doesn’t tell you what to buy or where, but it’s doing mechanical jobs we’d have to otherwise do ourselves,” Chopra says. “It tells you where else you can buy what you’re looking for and monitors it. This last part makes it much more satisfying and has really taken off on the personalization aspect. What it sees and remembers is based on their data and what is pertinent to them.
You can download the Chrome extensionover here. Let us know in the comments if you think this tool can help you become a more organized shopper.

Radu Tyrsina has been a Windows fan ever since he got his first PC, a Pentium III (a monster at that time).
For most of the kids of his age, the Internet was an amazing way to play and communicate with others, but he was deeply impressed by the flow of information and how easily you can find anything on the web.
Prior to founding Windows Report, this particular curiosity about digital content enabled him to grow a number of sites that helped hundreds of millions reach faster the answer they’re looking for.
