Ubisoft released an update for the console version of Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege which brings the game to version 1.2 for Xbox One players. The fixes in this patch have already been available for the PC version of the game for the past week, but now the console editions are receiving the same treatment for fixing connectivity and gameplay issues.
The fixes include an update to the server tick rate, refined matchmaking with added criteria, improved connectivity, and fixes for gameplay issues ranging from tweaks in the Heads Up Display, level design, UI, and audio fixes. One of the more important updates are changes to the banning policy: from now on, all detected cheaters will be permanently banned from the system.
The full list includes (via Ubihereandhere):
Hit Registration Improvements
Updated the server tick rate for all PC users, coming soon to consoles
Matchmaking Improvements
Improved connectivity to PVP and PVE matches
Top Community-Raised Bug Fixes
Gameplay Fixes
Level Design Fixes
Online Flow Fixes
UI Fixes
Audio Fixes
Other Fixes
Some of the patch notes say the fixes are PC-only, with console support coming soon, but that is because the changes were listed last week when the PC update went live. The “coming soon” date was actually yesterday, and the changes have gone live for Xbox One players as well.
Ubisoft also released version 1.3 for the PC edition of the game today, which is expected to be released for Xbox One next Wednesday January 20th. Version 1.3 continues to improve the server tick rate, improve anti-cheating efforts, and close off some exploits that give players an advantage. Some of the fixes in 1.3, specifically the ones dealing with cheating and exploits, are going live immediately for the console editions, while other bug fixes will come to consoles next week.
Here are the patch notesfor 1.3 which PC players will notice right now:
HIT REGISTRATION IMPROVEMENTS
ANTI-CHEATING IMPROVEMENTS
EXPLOIT FIX: DEFENDERS EXITING THE PREPARATION PHASE
TOP COMMUNITY-RAISED BUG FIXES
LEVEL DESIGN FIXES
ONLINE FIXES
With weekly updates that are tackling the top community known issues, Ubisoft seems determined to improving the gameplay as much as possible.
