It’s been months since we have been hearing the rumors of the existence and launch date of a 7 to 8-inch size Surface Mini tablet. We hoped that Microsoft would unveil it at its Surface event in May, but for some reason that didn’t happen. However, according to a new leak, the Surface Mini tablet is back in production and could launch sometime this upcoming summer.
The company had earlier accidentally revealed the existence of Surface Mini in the manual guide of the Surface Pro 3 tablet. Over the last few weeks, several rumors have suggested that Microsoft wasn’t confident with its Surface Mini lineup. A report onDigiTimessuggested that the company closed the production after learning the rumors of 4.7- and 5.5-inch iPhones. Though, the connection still doesn’t make sense to me — as with Surface Mini, Microsoft would be aiming at 7 to 8-inch tablets — possibly Nexus tablets and iPad Mini.
As of now that’s all the information we have, we will update the post as we hear more.
