Popular manufacturer of gaming peripheral Steelseries hasunveileda new portfolio of headsets earlier this week (viaKotaku). Meet the company’s Arctis line, a trio of gaming headsets that feature 7.1 surround sound and stylish and light design at an affordable price.

All three headsets come with premium audio drivers, a SteelSeries ClearCast microphone and full compatibility with PC, Mac, Xbox, PlayStation, mobile and VR devices. Starting at $99.99, the Arctis 3 is the base model with an analog wired connection but gamers looking for more features should look at the $99.99 Arctis 5 which features a USB connector to provide control for in-game chat volume. Lastly, the $149.99 Arctis 7 is a wireless headset with a 40ft range and a 15-hour battery, a full wrap headband and on-ear audio controls.

In the press release, SteelSeries CEO Ehtisham Rabbani explained that the company chose to move away from the specs war to focus on what is important for gamers. He explained:

Arctis is not a gaming headset. It is a headset line for gamers. That is how we approached the new audio line-up – with a fresh perspective as to who our customers really are and what they want. Brands have been distracting gamers for far too long with meaningless specification races and options that encourage spending more in order to get gaming-level quality. Arctis changes that.

The Arctis 3 and Arctis 5 headsets are available to pre-order in select countries starting today while the Arctis 7 is will be available sometime later. You can get more details on the Arctis portfolio onSteelSeries’ website, let us know in the comments what do you think of these new gaming headsets.
