Leading PC manufacturer Toshiba has unveiled Tecra C50 lineup, the latest addition to its rich notebook portfolio. With Tecra C50 series, the company is aiming to expand its offerings for business users.
The company is offering top-end hardware, with extensive support, at an affordable price point. The Tecra C50-series sports a 15.6-inch display with 1366 x 768 screen resolution, and is powered by an Intel Core i5 processor, with 4GB of DDR3L/1600 memory, and a 500GB hard drive. For additional security feature, the company has included Trusted Platform Module (TPM) V1.2. It also comes with a built-in DVD writer. This model costs $700, but you can save some money by opting for a Core i3 processor-equipped model for $580.
As previously noted, the laptop is targeted at business users, as a result of which, the company has installed the most popular operating system, Windows 7 Pro, on the system. But the company does offer a licensed copy of Windows 8.1 Pro if one wants to make the switch.
The company claims that if anything happens to these laptops in the first six months, Toshiba will replace the entire unit.
“Growing businesses need PCs that their workforces can count on with the features they need to be productive for a low total cost of ownership – we’ve designed the new Tecra C50 laptop just for that,” said Carl Pinto, vice president of marketing and engineering, Toshiba America Information Systems, Inc., Business Solutions Division. “Unlike other manufacturers who outsource most of their production, our business laptops are designed, engineered and rigorously tested in dedicated Toshiba facilities, giving us one of the industry’s lowest failure rates. We are so sure of the quality of these laptops, that if any of the major components fail within the first six months, we’ll give you a brand new one, no questions asked.”
Among other features, the C50 series boasts a user-removable 45-watt battery, which the company claims will last for around 7 hours on a single charge. There are three USB ports, out of which two are USB 3.0, the notebook supports WiFi, a headset port, has an Ethernet port, and comes with a security lock port.
The Tecra C50 laptops are now available for $580 (Core i3) and $700 (Core i5) and available exclusively from Ingram Micro’s reseller and solution provider network, including CDW, PC Connection, and Zones Inc.
