Turn Off the Lights extension for Edge appears in the Windows Store, but you can’t get it yet

Back in March of this year, we learned that a new extension for Microsoft Edge was being developed. This extension is called “Turn Off the Lights” and is also available on Google Chrome, Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, and other browsers, allowing users to dim everything on the screen except the Flash or HTML5 video being watched.

This extension was available as a preview on Github, but it appears that soon you will be able to snag it via the Windows Store. As discovered by WalkingCat on Twitter, the extension has made an appearance in the Store, but you can’t get it just yet. Here’s the official app description:

The entire page will be fading to dark, so you can watch the videos as if you were in the cinema. With a single click on the lamp button, the page will fade to dark. And automatically focus on the video. By clicking on it again, the page will return to normal. Turn Off the Lights is a lightweight and useful add-in designed for a more comfortable watching experience. It works for all known video sites such as YouTube, Vimeo, Dailymotion, Hulu, Metacafe, YouKu, etc. Not only this but these extensions are compatible with Google Chrome, Apple Safari, Mozilla Firefox, Opera, Microsoft Edge, Maxthon and Yandex web browsers.

The extension has a bunch of neat little features such as the ability to automatically dim the screen whenever you click the play button on a video, the option to enable or disable fade effects, Flash detection, and a bunch more.
