Microsoft has officially acknowledged that turning off Bluetooth radio in its Windows 10 Mobile build 14393, crashes or resets your Windows phone. The tech company has promised that its working on developing a fix for this annoying issue.
Microsoft also explained why this happens. If the phone’s UI freezes, this is because the UI is waiting for the radio to be turned off in the background. Ifyour phone freezes, leave it for a minute, and it should recover. If this doesn’t happen, you’ll need toreset your phone.
Thanks to your feedback we’ve found an issues that when Bluetooth is turned off, the phone crashes, freezes, or resets. There are two ways to hit this.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and are actively working on a fix and servicing it as soon as possible. If you have hit this, please file feedback through the Feedback Hub.
Although this is not a critical issue, as it can be solved by resetting the phone, users appreciate Microsoft’s effort to fix this bug as it can become very annoying sometimes.
Insiders have also reported two other issues which could be related to the currentBluetoothbug. More specifically, Bluetooth also crashes when usingMapsguided direction in the car. Secondly, when there are multiple devices connected via Bluetooth, Cortana’s ability to clearly listen is affected.
On the other hand, Insiders report that when they switch off the Bluetooth music device, Cortana hears clearly and responds immediately.
The current Windows 10 Mobile build has three known issues on the list: theWi-Fi issues on certain devices, the double PIN issue onthe Wallet appand the phone freezes caused by turning off the Bluetooth. Hopefully, all these issues will get fixed beforethe Anniversary Updateis released, and no new bugs will emerge.
