Microsoft’s latest version of Visual Studio, the popular integrated development environment,is available todayand comes with a new cross platform support to help developers build regardless of what platform they are coming from.

S. Somasegar, corporate vice president of Microsoft’s Developer Division, previouslydescribed the release saying:

“We are opening up Visual Studio to developers targeting new platforms – from cross-platform mobile development targeting iOS, Android and Windows, to game development targeting Unity, Unreal, Cocos and more.  At the same time, Visual Studio 2015 redefines developer productivity with proactive diagnostics tooling and the new Rolsyn language services for C# and VB.  And together, Visual Studio 2015, Team Foundation Server 2015 and Visual Studio Online help teams to embrace DevOps with great agile backlog management, Azure cloud tooling, hosted continuous integration, and Application Insights across all the components of your application.”

Now that the RTM for Visual Studio 2015 is here, Microsoft is hosting a half day event, which willbe broadcast here, to show off the many new tools for developers contained in the latest edition. Microsoft has also released a set of videos onChannel 9to help explain new features for cross-platform mobile app development, .Net 2015, Azure SDK 2.6, Apache Cordova, Windows 10 in general, and more.
