Sometimes when you have your Windows devices connected to a Wi-Fi network, it is good to track connection problems as well as reposition access points to improve your signal. Wi-Fi in mind, we have just discovered a new program that lets you get that, and more, done.

The makers of NetSpot, a professional grade network survey program for Mac, have just launched NetSpot Windows, free edition. The program features two major Wi-FI troubleshooting modes which help control and visualize the areas with multiple Wi-Fi networks. Using NetSpot, you can track connection problems and choose the best channels for networks or even re-position access points to improve your Wi-Fi reception.

The Discover mode of the program collects all information about surrounding Wi-Fi networks and puts it in a real time interactive table to help you troubleshoot and improve on your coverage. On the other hand, NetSpot’s Wi-Fi Survey mode creates interactive heat maps with detailed information on all surveyed wireless networks in every point on the map. This feature is available in the free initial release, and brings lots of data for any one with any level of experience.

NetSpot for Windows is currently free, and is designed for both home and business users. It is compatible with any non hidden 802.11 Wi-Fi network, all Wi-Fi adapters, and Windows 7, 8 and 10. The program previously won a MacWorld Editor’s Choice award in 2012.
