Microsoft’s Larry Hryb made a guest appearance on the GameSlice YouTube channel today and performed an unboxing of the newly announced Xbox One S video game console.
Throughout the video, Hryb recapped a lot of information about the Xbox One S and clarified other stats that some fans may have found ambiguous during the initial reveal two days prior at theMicrosoft E3 2016 conference. He confirmed that, unlike the Xbox One, the power source on the Xbox One S has been relocated to within the console itself. He also reassured viewers that the new controller that was shipping with the Xbox One S console would also be the same one used in the new Xbox Design Lab. You can watch the video below.
The Xbox One S was formally revealed at Microsoft’s E3 2016 conference. It is very similar to the original Xbox One modelbut is 40% smaller in physical size, requires no power brick, isslightly more powerful with 4K image capability, and makes use of High Dynamic Range technology to display graphics in more optimized fashion. In addition to one of the new controllers, the Xbox One S console also ships with a stand which allows for it to be positioned vertically, and contains a USB slot and a IR blaster on the front side.
The new Xbox One controller shipping with the Xbox One S andbeing sold separately from September onwardsis a slight remodel of the current Xbox One controller with improved grip on the underside and Bluetooth capability which enables it to be used with a PC as well as an Xbox One console. Previously, gamers would have to purchase a special controller with Bluetooth or a wired connection to play games on the PC.
Both the Xbox One S and the new controller are now available for pre-order. Will you be upgrading to these new models or are you thinking of waiting to see what Project Scorpio looks like? Share the hype with the community in the comments below.
