While Microsoft ended its free upgrade offer to Windows 10 on July 29, the new operating system has continued to grow its desktop OS share over the last month. According to the latest data fromNetMarketShare, Windows 10 claimed a 22.99% desktop OS share in August 2016, which is 1.86 points of percentage higher than its 21.13% score inJuly(viaWindows Central).

Of course, Windows 7 is still far ahead with a 47.25% desktop OS share in August, which is actually up from 47.01% in July. Windows XP still closes the podium with a 9.36% OS share (down from 10.34% in July) while Windows 8.1 went from 7.8% in July to 7.92 last month.

Windows 10 managed to maintain a steady growth since its release in July 2015 and the upcoming months promised to be very interesting. AsIFA 2016is officially underway, many OEMs are currently introducing their latest portfolios of Windows 10 PCs and 2-in-1s though consumers who don’t want to buy a new PC can stillpurchase a Windows 10 licenseto upgrade their current machine. Let us know in the comments if you expect Windows 10 to maintain its current growth in the coming months.

For most of the kids of his age, the Internet was an amazing way to play and communicate with others, but he was deeply impressed by the flow of information and how easily you can find anything on the web.

Prior to founding Windows Report, this particular curiosity about digital content enabled him to grow a number of sites that helped hundreds of millions reach faster the answer they’re looking for.
