Earlier today, we brought you the first look at a new unreleased Windows 10 build (you can head over hereto watch our hands-on video of it in case you didn’t see it). In Windows 10 build 10154, Microsoft has introduced a number of new improvements — one of which includes new Modern app icons for several apps. These new icons come courtesy of new app updates available to those of you on Windows 10, regardless of what recent build you are on.

As you can see in the image above (compared to the image below from build 10147), Microsoft has not only made some of the Modern app icons smaller, but the company has introduced new icons for the Mail app, Calendar app, Photos app, and the Phone Companion app. The Music app has also received a new icon, but this has been evident in recent builds.

If you are on Windows 10 build 10130 (the current official build available for Windows Insiders), simply head over to the Store Beta and download the new app updates for Mail, Calendar, Photos, and Music. You will receive the new icons in these app updates.

These new icons definitely fit the style Microsoft is looking to go with in my opinion. Windows 10 is set for release on July 29th and we hope to see more visual refinements as the release date nears. Let us know if you like these new icons in the comments below.
