Microsoft just released a new build, labelled 14291, for Windows 10 Mobile Preview and it’s available on all devices eligible for receiving Windows 10 Mobile Preview builds. Additionally, the build number matches thePC version’s.

Until Microsoft released the full version of Windows 10 Mobile, only devices that originally shipped with this OS (Lumia 550, 650, 950, 950 XL, Alcatel OneTouch Fierce XL, and Xiaomi Mi4) were able to receive Redstone builds for Windows 10 Mobile Preview. But upon releasing Windows 10 Mobile, Microsoft promised that all devices with the OS installed on would be able to receive future Redstone builds, with the company keeping its promise today.

However, Microsoft mentioned that Lumia 635 devices and their owners would be left out in the cold for the time being as the plan is to push it out to them in the near future. We’re not certain why the company is excluding the Lumia 635 from the initial rollout, but this device surely brings the most confusion out of all the Windows 10 Mobile-ready devices.

A couple of days ago,we reportedthat the 512MB variant of the Lumia 635 is also eligible for the Windows 10 Mobile upgrade but only in Brazil, making it the only 512MB device that is ready for the upgrade at all.

“Today we are releasing this build to the list of devices that will be capable of receiving updates as part of the Windows Insider Program except the Lumia 635. We will add the Lumia 635 at a later date. Going forward – these devices can receive new builds from our Development Branch that we release to the Fast and Slow rings. As we stated previously, only devices which are eligible to receive the Windows 10 Mobile upgrade will be able to get preview builds from the Development Branch.”

Build 14291 for Windows 10 Mobile Preview brings some new features along with standard improvements. Insiders who install this build will enjoy a revamped version of Maps along with a new Alarms & Clock app.

To make sure your device is eligible for the Windows 10 Mobile upgrade and for future Redstone builds, check out the list of supported devices below:
