Welcome back to the Windows 10 news recap for the week last week. This week, Microsoft kicked off withclarificationon which versions of Windows would get what edition of Windows 10. a blog post on Microsoft’s Australia Partner Network offered more detailed information about the specific paths for upgrading to Windows 10. As previously mentioned, but now further spelled out, devices that take advantage of the free upgrade will receive ongoing Windows 10 updates for the life of that device and the free upgrade toWindows 10will be delivered through Windows Update.
Also this week, a new build of Windows 10 wasreleasedto Windows Insiders, build 10122 which includes numerous features and changes. This new build is now available for fast ring participants and you can download it right now from the Settings app (Update & Security > Windows Update). According to Microsoft’s Gabriel Aul, this particular build is “buttery smooth” and a “nice improvement from 10074.”
Furthermore, weexclusivelyunveiled a number of new changes in a more recent build of Windows 10, being 10125. Windows 10 Build 10125 is an unreleased and unleaked build of Windows 10 which includes a number of new changes and features over the last public preview build which is build 10122. Build 10125 includes new icons, improved customization to Start and a back button for tablet mode.
We also learned this past week that Microsoft Edge will supportloads of audio standards, let you knowwhich tab is playing audio, and let youpin your favorite websiteto the Start Menu.
Phil Spencer revealed thatWindows 10 Beta for Xboxwould take place “post-summer.”Finally, it wasrevealedthis week that newer versions of Windows 10 are better at getting better at protecting against malware. According to Tim Rains the chief security advisor for Microsoft WorldwideCybersecurity& Data Protection, the latest versions of Windows see lower malware infection rates.
