The next major update to Windows 10, Windows 10 Redstone, will reportedly bring better pen support for Universal Windows 10 applications. In fact, according to aleak by OneTile.ru, Microsoft will be bringing a better pen support control module, dubbed RadialController, which is much like the circular formatting menu once available in OneNote.

Another pen support feature that is said to be included is InkToolbar. InkToolbar will allow users have better accuracy when drawing on websites in Microsoft Edge and for use with third-party apps that support pen input. RadialController and InkToolbar will be welcome additions to control pen input and sensitivity on styluses, like the Surface Pen.

Currently, the Surface Pen has limited settings options in Windows 10. The only way to control Surface Pen settings is through the Surface application in Windows 10 or through Windows 10 Settings (Settings>Devices>Pen). Both Surface Pen support options for Surface Pro 3 and 4 and Surface Book offer few customization options and provide the control that many Windows 10 users want.

It is possible that the new pen support features that will be available in Windows 10 Redstone will pave the way for the long-awaited Surface Phone that might have a stylus much like the Surface Pen. Of course, keep tuned to WinBeta, and we’ll do our best to let you know more just as soon as we can.
