XBMC, which was named after a combination of Xbox and Media Center, is moving on with a new name in version 14. It wishes to escape the lack of control it currently has, thanks to Microsoft controlling those brands. But before we get to 14 (well, you can, as its in alpha now) there is 13.2, which still falls under the XBMC name and goes as Gotham.
The latest release is in candidate form, and follows several, well three, betas, but it brings a number of changes. All are fixes — don’t expect new features to come flying off your TV screen.
“Do note that this release only contains fixes and no new features. So it should be safe to install on top of any of the current 13.X releases”, the organization states.
For now there is no exact schedule for final release, with XBMC only saying “in due time”. There are some important caveats with this release and users should follow the via link below to head over to the official announcement from XBMC and read through everything the organization has to say. There is much about Linux, iOS and backing up data.

For most of the kids of his age, the Internet was an amazing way to play and communicate with others, but he was deeply impressed by the flow of information and how easily you can find anything on the web.
Prior to founding Windows Report, this particular curiosity about digital content enabled him to grow a number of sites that helped hundreds of millions reach faster the answer they’re looking for.
